John Woods grew up in Alexandria, Virginia. He spent four years plus one victory lap at Virginia Tech, where he majored in Computer Science; minored in Mathematics, Philosophy, and Russian; achieved a black belt; and then threw it all away to apply to biology graduate programs.
John is now at the University of Texas at Austin, which just proves that fortune tellers can’t really tell the future. He is working on a Ph.D. in Cell and Molecular Biology in the Marcotte Lab.
